Japanese Canadian National Museum presents the annual
Jan Ken Pon! Family Games Day.
A fun Japanese heritage games day for families with young children.
Experience over twenty traditional Japanese heritage games and toys at the annual Jan Ken Pon! Family Games Day. This year’s event is centered on Setsubun (the eve of the first day of spring); where kids scatter beans to chase away the ogre and bring in happiness. Events include: playing with colourful tops and Japanese style cup & ball, make your own sumo wrestlers and otedamas (beanbags), to learning how to make origami pieces. The highlight of the day will be a rock-paper-scissors tournament – with prizes to be won. The event is suitable for families with children aged 4 to 12 (children must be accompanied by an adult).
Tickets: $4 before January 30, or $5 at-the-door.
Pre-order your obento lunch box (chicken teriyaki, onigiri rice ball, veggie sticks, dessert, and beverage) by January 30 for $5.

Tian Jin Cultural Celebration Festival is committed to promoting the awareness of traditional Chinese culture and enhancing local cultural exchange. The dance, music, art, and food of diverse cultures will be showcased for visitors in all ages.
The activities will be held based on a "MiaoHui" style. "MiaoHui", literally "Temple fair", is a Chinese cultural gathering traditionally adjacent to the temple. It was first introduced more than thousands years ago for religious ceremonies. Now it will be presented in Tian Jin Cultural Celebration Festival not only for visitors to see this event with long history, but also to celebrate harmony in cultural heritage and diversity.
Please come join us in this special event and take home unique sights, sounds and tastes!
